THE CHINESE AMERICAN FORUM (CAF)
The Chinese American Forum was founded in Silver Spring, Maryland in 1982 by a group of accomplished Chinese-American scientists and educators to promote better understanding and respect between Chinese Americans and the general public. The first issue of the CAF, which is a quarterly magazine in English, was published in May, 1984. In January 1997, the operation was moved to St. Louis and then St. Charles, MO. Starting in early 2005, the operation of publication was relocated to Seattle, WA.
Thanks to the dedication of CAF volunteers and the unwavering support of the Chinese American community and general public, the Forum has published without interruption for over 20 years. The CAF readership includes members of the US Congress, state governors, and the general public. The magazine is available at over 70 university and community libraries.
The mission of the Chinese American Forum, a cultural and educational publication, is to serve as an open dialogue to promote mutual understanding between Chinese Americans and the general public and to urge Chinese/Asian Americans to become active members in the American mainstream.
CAF is a non-profit IRS 501(c)(3) Corporation (Fed #52-1268658), non-partisan and non-sectarian organization solely supported by membership dues, subscriptions, individual contributions, and corporate sponsorships.
